The metal plate over the sewer cover following the re-paving of Chelsea Drive is becoming a nuisance. The plate is no longer square over the opening made for it, making the plate a tire puncture hazard. The plate is very loud and annoying, particularly at night when trying to sleep. The plate is an eyesore for our lovely street that is otherwise freshly paved. The plate has been there for over 2 months now. When will this be fixed? Why hasn't the contractor who installed the improper sewer cover/opening been brought back to rectify the mistake at their cost? Fixing this issue needs to be made a priority.

Some work was done to make the plate shift less but the more fundamental issue is why the plate is still there in the first place. The contractor's scope for paving clearly included properly leaving sewer cover openings and installing the covers. Why hasn't the original contractor been called back under its warranty to correct its defective work? I've heard that the repair work is delayed while the County "lets a new contract"? Why? Make the original contractor complete its job! The City needs to pressure the County to have this completed ASAP--it's been 4 months.

Another month later and the loud, ugly metal plate covering a contractor's defective work is still there. It is mind-boggling that the City has not forced the County to enforce the contractor's warranty.
