It would seem that it would take just a little policy shift on the DPW's part to make this a non-issue. No one would deny it's a tough job to have to move all that snow during a storm event. All we'd ask is that DPW & contracted plowers not pile snow at the end of a sidewalk access ramp. Go 5, 10, 20 feet to one side of a ramp or the other, and we'll happily clear the ramp itself while we clear the sidewalk.

I agree with John. Seems to be a systemic issue. Homeowners need to shovel sidewalks and most do a great job, but then snow is piled at the ends of sidewalks and you end up walking in the narrow streets anyway.
