The chain link of fences do not get buried in concrete when new sidewalks are poured. There is nothing DPW can do to address the issue of the fence not meeting the grade of the sidewalk.

Why not they were the ones who ruined it. I would love it fixed. I feel the city is responsible.

The city doesn't incorporate fences into concrete when pouring new sidewalks. The fence was not previously attached to the concrete.

When sidewalks are replaced we are required to meet ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements. This dictates elevation requirements for sidewalks. There may have been a slight grade change which would leave a gap between the sidewalk and the chain link. The city did not touch the fence, nor make any changes to the property.
