The intersection of 16 at Medford Square near the police station is very difficult to navigate in a car and especially as a pedestrian. Please consider thieving the traffic lights on and not just leaving them on flashing all the time.
Does anyone know why these lights aren't in use as controlled traffic lights? I've seen several accidents and it's hard to traverse as a driver, pedestrian, or bicyclist.
This has been open for well over a year. What can I do to encourage this change? I know it's a state-run road, but it's right near the police station and seems ridiculous to have a dangerous intersection right there.
Sounds like a police cruiser was recently hit at this intersection, just one of many accidents there. Any update on whether this can be made safer for pedestrians and cars alike?
Still an issue even after the changes that have been made. This is especially true for pedestrians about to cross the bridge as Main St. traffic traveling in both directions are always wanting to turn onto 16 in the west-bound direction.
Shocked to see this has been an issue since 2016 (and likely long before). This is an incredibly dangerous intersection for pedestrians. I understand this is a highway ramp, but residents need to be able to walk to the square to access those businesses. Please revisit this and make it safe for pedestrians.
