I wish the Nashville Government would get involved, at least in the issue of pedestrians having to walk in traffic.

I agree! All these construction areas in downtown Nashville - they just haul off and block sidewalks with fences. Why don't they erect apparatuses that we can walk under, like they used to? There is one such apparatus on 4th Ave. near Broadway (where Gruhn Guitars was before they moved) - otherwise, we have to walk sideways on what little sliver of sidewalk hasn't been blocked with a fence. I'm legally blind & I don't appreciate that at all!!
