Thank you for reporting your flooding concerns. While this appears to be on private property, several variables could make your property and those around it highly susceptible to flooding. Low elevation, high levels of water retention in the soil, a reduction in permeable surfaces, and rising sea levels have converged to create a situation where even the smallest amount of rainfall can cause large-scale pooling. It's common to see pooling during heavy rain, with that water clearing within 12-24 hours. The flooding may simply be an issue of capacity, not blockage.

Nevertheless, your information is very helpful in making our neighborhoods more resilient. We will use your data in our collaborative efforts to plan for the future and build a stronger community together. We have recently completed a citywide Stormwater Master Plan which addresses regional flooding issues throughout our City. While implementing these regional projects will require a multi-year approach, the city will also be working towards addressing more localized flooding.
