Citizen called to report: On April 2022, I sent a letter to the City requesting, if possible, to do something about the creek that passes through the back of my property, maybe making that water to run through a pipe because the problem that causes the huge amount of mosquitoes and the bad smell, specifically when it doesn't rain often. The water sits there without moving making that water a danger to our health.
Also, I would like to ask you if there is something that can be done about a big oak tree that is located right at the edge of the creek, behind my house. The roots of this tree are exposed and I am afraid the tree can fall on top of my house any time, even more, during hurricane season.

Spto, has removed the dead oak tree along the ditch. Resident is still interested in have the ditch piped in. SPTO will send over to Engineering.

Thank you for taking the opportunity to be an active part of our community and noting concerns about the stormwater conveyance section adjacent to your property.
The subject stormwater conveyance system is a reflection of the way this region was originally constructed. Extensive earthwork, roadway reconstruction, infrastructure improvements and considerable environmental permitting challenges leads to a less than favorable project feasibility.
In an effort to prioritize improvements in a manner that are sustainable to the fiscal resources afforded to us by our community, the city addresses stormwater system improvement consistent with criteria as described in our recently updated Stormwater Masterplan. However, improvements to the subject stormwater conveyance are not included in the current capital improvements program.
The scope and goals for the city-wide neighborhood improvements are reviewed and revised biannually. In the meantime, staff will coordinate any needed maintenance at subject location.
