Description
My dearest Elanore,
I miss your gentle touch and sweet breath that reminisces of warm nutmeg as I struggle to make the journey back north from fighting the confederate insurgence. It’s been a grueling trek my love. Food is scarce, sickness has run rampant amongst the men but the thought of your cordial smile keeps me alive. Alas! Great fortune has forestruck us! We have made encampment along a never ending stream of fresh and amazingly well filtered water! We have been here for three weeks with no change in the blessings from this well of fortune. The men are regaining their strength. The unlimited flowing water has allowed us to clean our wounds and refresh our spirits! I feel shortly I may once again feel your warm embrace with this endless gift of water. Thank the heavens!
- yours truly and forever ,
Major Theodore Glenview, 8th Calvary
