Alex-Thank you for reporting this issue to us. Root intrusion into sidewalks, curbs, and road surfaces is an unfortunate and fairly routine issue for St. Petersburg with as many trees as we have in public rights of way. Under the guidance of a certified arborist, the Stormwater, Pavement, and Traffic Operations Department will trim the intrusive root structure and restore the affected infrastructure. We then monitor the tree for the next several months to ensure the root alternation was not fatal. I'm forwarding your request to our Pavement Maintenance Team for action. Again, thank you.
