I feel your pain since my narrow street has had nowhere to put out trash barrels for almost a month. However, the plan we're undertaking is to use the orange bags, and place them on top of the huge mountains of snow for collection. As you know, DPW has been pushed to the limit day in and day out. There has been snow removal occurring in the City, but I don't know the plans for Crescent. Crescent is way bigger than my street, so you have that in your favor.

Richie - Russell just basically refused to take the garbage because they weren't in the street. We can't put them in the street or sidewalk because they will block both people and cars.

My tiny street went with the orange bags last week. On top of every snow pile down the whole street, it was just a sea of orange bags, and Russell took them all. You're right, Russell isn't going to take cans off the sidewalk (where they'd be blocking pedestrians). I think you're going to have to dig out a spot in a snow pile for barrels, or go with the orange bags.

That's odd because they took them last week.

If that happens, call DPW 617-466-4200 and have THEM talk to Russell.
