Better use of time and tax payer dollars would be to focus on the speeding issue to and from Puryear Park along 58th Ave NE from after Pierce to the park entrance. One of the few major thoroughfares in the neighborhood that doesn’t have a raised intersection or speed table to slow drivers down.

The city is supposed to make city parks and city streets accessible to all. It's not there to create exclusionary policies that benefit a small group of confused homeowners who think living next to a city park makes it their personal backyard.

Is this sign hindering any access to the street? Does it prevent anyone from traversing down the road? The city already responded to this request. Appreciate the inquiry but seems to be trying to make a problem where one doesn’t exist. None of the residents are out there preventing people from going down the road or telling them to turn onto Lee Street.

Yes, it does prevent people from going down the road. They see the sign and think they'll get a ticket if they do.

Thank you for bringing this sign to my attention. I will look into the background of why it was installed and if necessary, have it removed.

The Local Traffic Only sign at 58th Avenue NE and Lee Street NE along with the other one at 58th Avenue NE and Foch Street NE will be removed because that is not the correct use of this sign. Per Section 6F.09 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), a Local Traffic Only sign is to be used in conjunction with road closures but where local road users can still use the closed road to get to their point of destination. For example, a road is closed due to construction, but people still need to get to their house on that road. They can still use the road, but everyone else has to detour.
