mhanss: there are many miles of streets in Ann Arbor without bike lanes. Bike riders can either ride on sidewalks or ride in the street. If the truck driver has the authority to park in the lane, then ride around it.

mhanss: then ride in the street. It is legally allowed. Wear a helmet. Be watchful of other traffic. This is done in many cities around the world.

Its absolute no different than when a car must slightly enter on coming traffic for a moment to get around a work truck. Look both ways, wait for it to be safe, and in 3 seconds youll be past it.
