Residential Storm Debris curbside pickup is underway, and we have completed about 35% to 40% of the first sweep through residential homes. The first sweep is expected to be complete over the next two and ½ weeks.

We ask residents to please be patient as we work through the city. All tree debris should have been placed behind the curb, off the street, and in front of the house. Curbside only. No mixing of other storm debris with the vegetation. Vegetation must be placed on the edge of your property line, but do not block meters or stack vegetation against other items like trees or garbage cans, or block the right-of-ways.

A couple of essential details:

- It will take several weeks to pick up all the storm debris
- The city will collect debris from all houses.
- There is no need to call and report the need for a special sanitation pickup of storm debris currently.
- Hurricane debris should not be placed in the alley as it will delay pickup and require a special pick after they are restarted.
- Special pickup of non-storm debris is on hold for at least the next two weeks while we focus on this effort.
- Debris is not picked up on your scheduled trash pickup date - expect the process to take time as city crews work the entire city grid.
- No need to call - City crews are working and will eventually get around to all neighborhoods. It will take several more weeks, to get to everyone. - You might think you have been missed but be assured we will get to every debris pickup.

FYI… Any new debris that is Green or has been put out after the hurricane will have to call into Sanitation for a Special Pickup through Sanitation, and they will be processed in order after our holding period.

In addition, to pick up by the city, residents can take debris to one of the city’s five brush sites, which will offer extended hours of 9 AM to 5:30 PM, 7 days a week. Brush site locations are found at stpete.org/brushsites.

Yard Waste:

Residents may drop off vegetation yard waste & debris (grass, leaves, tree and shrub trimmings, palm fronds, limbs and logs), with the following exceptions:

• Yard waste must not contain plastics, metal or lumber
• Large limbs/logs should be less than five feet long
• Stumps should weigh less than 300 lbs.

Property owners who hire a business to do yard work must accompany workers to a brush site for yard waste disposal or complete a Brush Site Consent Form. The form must be signed and completed by both the property owner and the company performing the services for the brush site to accept the material. Size and weight limits apply. Loads from multiple addresses will not be accepted.
