Come on city of Oakland, the residents in that neighborhood are trying to make it better ( evident in the planters in the foreground of the pic). It would be nice for you to support them
I walked this way on my work this morning, and yes, this hideous graffiti has been removed. There are still faint traces (what are those squiggly things anyway?), but the removers did a masterful job. Thank you very much.
Let's also be clear when differentiating between "Grafitti" and "Taging"! Many talented artist are doing beautiful work that enhances our neighborhoods, while others are just 'leaving their mark' like a dog! Even worse (to me) are 'taggers' that tag over other people's incredible art work, WTF is that about!
Although I can appreciate good art and tell the difference between graffiti and tagging, let's also be clear about what is legal and illegal. If it is done without the property owner's permission that is illegal, don't care if you are Pablo F Picasso.
DON'T VANDALIZE MY CITY!!
Anyone with a can of spray paint that uses it on someone else's property without their consent is called vandalism, and it is a complete violation, and it infuriates me, which is why I really don't care about the difference between tagging and graffiti. None of it is art to me, just non-creative inane drivel. I still thank the city of Oakland for covering it up.
