The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 530298. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Yesterday, Sunday July 27th I noticed the warning cone was gone from this pothole and it had been "filled" with dirt. I hope Oakland Public Works Department does not consider this "fixed" because it definitely is not! I don't know who filled this hole but the current "fix" is unacceptable and dangerous for cyclists who cannot traverse this dip in the road without possible injury -- especially at night!
Dear DPW,
Please either complete the repair of this pothole, or re-open this issue and properly fill in and repave surface, to avoid other costly lawsuits to the city! :-(
I am tired of all this whining from PWD over roadwork infrastructure. This patch work was done improperly from the beginning. Where is code enforcement they inspected it and passed it or did they??? Find out who did the job and fine them. Where is the non compactable gravel that is required by code. Why are the tax payer being accountable for these failures. Salt in the wound.
