Are the snow plows coming!!?

12 hours laters the residential street still has not been plowed. How are residents supposed to get to work?

Please note that per the contract with the city, the snow removal contractors are required only to clear a 10-foot path down the middle of the road to allow vehicles to pass. It is the responsibility of the homeowners and business owners to clear snow from their driveways and sidewalks. This request will now be closed.

What about ice melt? There has been no ice melt applied either.

“What method was used to verify this? If the street was actually plowed, there would be snow buildup on the sides and on car tires. This street was skipped because its been packed down by cars but that is no excuse for a plow and/or salt from coming through. Furthermore if the city is paying for this service because a contractor claims it was done there is a bigger issue at hand. “

Sidewalks were cleared, the actual service road there was no path cleared for cars to drive through; plowing has NOT been completed on the service road. Please refer to the photos that clearly show the service road has not been plowed or treated. Please re-open this request.

Street has been inspected and found to be passable for vehicle traffic

No plows came & no ice melt was left down. Whatever Mother Nature has melted will freeze over in the evenings. What exactly is considering “passable” vs plowed & treated like the adjacent service road and nearby highway? All of which are nearby an ice melt/plow station.

Area has been inspected and found to be passable for vehicle traffic, Ice melt is not applied to residential streets, the goal is that vehicles can travel down all streets without getting stuck in snow. This favorable condition is found in this area

Another direction

Now days later: Not the work of any promised plow, just regular bits of sunshine and local vehicular travel.

Pictures provided reveals snow with a consistent straight edge, snow along curb around fire hydrant was plowed snow does not naturally fall in the manner shown. Area has been inspected and found to be passable for vehicle traffic, salting residential streets is not a service the City provides. Plowed streets may not remove all snow from the street. The goal is that vehicles can pass without being stuck in snow, this condition presently exist.

It reveals a road the city plow efforts neglected seriously. It doesn’t take Mitch to admit an error in execution. You can see I. One pic how a car had to drive up on the median at one point. The snow may be slowly melting (and refreezing) but it is not because the city contractors did their best job. They aren’t being held accountable either it seems.

Mitch=much…nothing personal to the Mitches of the world. Nothing has been resolved. Someone just wants this issue to quietly go away. Why are the service roads ignored? We pay taxes too! Even more now soon apparently.

**UPDATE**: I was informed by a city officials that although the US Postal Service (and most official maps) indicate this road is E Edsel Ford Fwy, the city recognizes the road as “E Edsel Ford Service Drive”. While it is helpful to know this, why in the world is this the case!?

They also admitted that they have been neglecting to remove snow when the accumulation does warrant plowing here repeatedly. I assume this neglect goes beyond just snow removal to include any type of responsiveness to issues raised by residents via the improve Detroit platform because of the address discrepancies.

Please pass on the knowledge that those living on E Edsel Ford Fwy may need to also recognize certain city services are choosing to only recognize the road as E Edsel Service Drive.
