Description
Residents in this area are concern with the high traffic and speeding of cars entering the cul-de-sac - not knowing its not a through street. They would like signs posted for "No Outlet" to prevent unnecessary traffic and danger to young children in the area.

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends. Issues that the City deems to be immediate safety concerns will be elevated for quick action.

How long will it take to have this issue resolved - we have requested this since the beginning of December 2021.
Is it possible to get a signage at the beginning of street large enough for vehicles to see:
THIS IS A DEAD-END STREET
SLOW DOWN CHILDREN AT PLAY
ROAD CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC
There are many streets that have these signs at the beginning and also on some streets they have it the beginning and ending of their streets (see attached).
We have too many car, vans, trucks, delivery vehicles, etc. coming in and out of our street thinking that it's a through street - many also speed in and out paying no attention to children at play.
We as parents with our young children playing, riding their bikes and the elderly taking their walks on the street have many times yelled at these vehicles to slow down. We always place "SLOW DOWN VISUAL SIGNAGE, KID ALERT VISUAL WARNING SIGNAGE - CHILDREN AT PLAY, and DRIVE LIKE YOUR KIDS LIVE HERE SIGNS" out whenever our children are out with us playing but most vehicles “not residents on our street” disregard our signs, our children playing and us as parents.
