You might want to consider sealing the joints between these pavement slabs in order to prevent freeze and frost damage.
The thermal expansion strips on these joints are all loose and laying around on top of the pavement indicating that the joints are no longer sealed. Perhaps a little bit of preventative maintenance will prevent future long-term expenses.
