Description
I can’t find one mailbox except at the post office which is counterintuitive. I need to mail my letters as I walk to the light rail maybe or when I walk my dog. If I lived in a predominantly not Black neighborhood it seems as if that would be acceptable and normal but here in Bergen Lafayette it seems as if I don’t have equal protection under the federal law and my political representation isn’t arbitrating for my right to mail a letter. Remember- Some of us vote by
mail. And the lack of not one single mailbox in a predominantly Black neighborhood is tantamount to voter suppression. I want a mailbox in my neighborhood. I want ten mailboxes throughout the Ward F. Doesn’t it bother you that Newport has mailboxes? The heights? But not the neighborhood where Black and Brown people live? Change it! No excuses.
