  I would like to support and emphasize the comments (and separate reports on the same topic) about the dangers of speeding traffic on lower Flynn near the entrance to Oakledge Park. Cars speed in both directions, but it seems worse exiting the park. MANY, MANY cars make the right turn out of the park onto Flynn and then simply gun it -- directly into the area where MANY, MANY walkers cross from the lower Flynn sidewalk over to Oakbeach, while MANY bikers are making their way into/out of the park as well. Pedestrian traffic is very high at this intersection, as residents from five separate condo associations -- Lake Forest, Southwind, Ledgewood East, Ledgewood South and Ledgewood I -- all use Oakbeach Drive to get to the park. The official cross walk is awkward to begin with: in terms of the extensive pedestrian traffic into the park, if there is only one crosswalk, it should connect the sidewalk on the west side of Oakbeach Dr. to Flynn, or better yet, there should be two crosswalks over to Flynn, one from each side of Oakbeach, as is normal at most City street intersections. With a double crosswalk configuration, a three-way stop here could work. Alternatively, at least two speed bumps on Flynn -- between Oakbeach Dr. and the park, and between Oakbeach Drive and the entrance to Lake Forest -- would be helpful, especially if combined with the high-visibility cross-walk signage and flashing lights -- but again, if installed for the existing single crosswalk on the east side of Oakbeach, it would probably not be used much, as so many people walk down the west side of Oakbeach, and are unlikely to cross back over Oakbeach to get to the crosswalk, rather than just proceed directly across Flynn from the west side of Oakbeach. Bottom line: something needs to be done to address the dangerous combination of speeding cars and heavy pedestrian and bike traffic on Flynn between Oakbeach Drive and the park. At some point (hopefully not too far in the future), Flynn will be repaved, and that will only increase speeding into the park, since the terrible condition of the street is now serving to slow traffic down to some extent as they approach Oakbeach Drive and the entrance to the park.
