Cars honk at me for acknowledging the stop sign
Will get honked at and almost hit daily walking my child and dog through this intersection.
Police need to start ticketing

grateful i don’t live right at that intersection. or 5th and haight for that matter. the city needs to act, or at the very least have a person come down here and monitor for several different days and times what the heck is going on so residents are believed.

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. In April, 2021, the City Council approved final concepts for major safety improvements to Central Ave from Sherman to Main. This will result in safer auto speeds and better pedestrian crossings, Construction is expected to begin in late 2022. More information is here: www.alamedaca.gov/central
Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends. Issues that the City deems to be immediate safety concerns will be elevated for quick action.
