Description
Center dog park reopening plan- the center dog area is closed due to alleged overuse of the spigot. However, this mud develops due to regular rainfall. Request that the county cover the low lying area with coarse gravel to assist in drainage of the area rather than close the entire park. This closure will not solve the issue and will continue to be a problem until a more proactive solution is implemented.

The mud puddle is not the only reason it was closed. We have two separate runs so that wear can be spread between the two parks. We used to alternate closing one of the dog runs regularly but got out of the habit after Covid. While I was in the park, I noticed extreme wear in the center of the park. The grass is all but gone. This condition confirmed the decision to close the center run. We will monitor the center section and open it when it is ready. If it turns out that the mud puddle is persistent, we will of course address the problem.
Thank you.
