How is it that it is ok to cut all the trees down on the lot lines in this neighborhood that has already lost so many to the tornado? My back neighbor cut a 150 foot Magnolia yesterday, and today the cutter says he's going to clear all the others left. 2 tall deciduous trees. Now we are exposed to both his full house and the other neighbors parking lot and sheds, and the vale of our property has plummeted! NO SHADE NO PROTECTION from a view of their ugly space. There's no way in the world to plant anything to take the place of an OLD VALUABLE, ESTABLISHED TREE , they have a huge impact on the neighborhood aesthetic and worth as well as the environment. I talked to a COR person in zoning and he said there was only a ruling for percentage of allowable cutting for properties over 2 acres. It should be the other way around! Can't the COR get this right? Stop letting people run roughshod over each other! That includes developers.

NO that's NOT how it rolls. Just try doing anything you want with your house or building. There are lots of rules. Inspectors go around and around. How would you like me to be uphill from you doing whatever I wanted? Making your place look like a dump... I don't think so. You know that's not right.

If it's on his property, the tree is HIS PROPERTY. And if he wants to cut it down, so be it. Regardless of how it affects his neighbors or how wrong it is to cut down such beautiful old trees in an area that desperately needs them kept.......unless there's an HOA (and in that neighborhood there's not).....you have no recourse.

if this was in OAKWOOD there would be a lawsuit. The last two trees are on an absent neighbors property line and the abutter is probably in charge of that. This is why this country is a mess people do whatever they want and call it their rights. You said enough DWR drink your tea.

Assumption on what would be done in another neighborhood. "Probably in charge of that"--yet another assumption. LOL And people removing trees from their property if they feel the need to do so has NOTHING to do with "what's wrong with this country". So kill your assumptions.....because even "go drink your tea" is an assumption. So continue to look an &ss.

I agree with DWR. The trees are on their property and they have a right to cut them down, for what ever reason. If there is no HOA, no approval is needed. I think it may be time for you to plant some trees in your own yard if shade (privacy?) is what you desire.

I apologize for the long-delayed response. A number of issues in SCF have been lost and are just now being resurrected.

Trees on private property, if not required by development regulations, can be removed at the discretion of the property owner.

I am going to close this issue at this point. Once again my apologies for the delay!
