Pothole on Rutherford Street.

Notified About

  • Buell St & Glen St New Britain, CT, 06051, USA - New Britain

are the Police going to do ANYTHING about the absolutely insane and absurd cars that are FLYING down Glen St towards the High School and Willow Brook Park? Cars come whipping down the road and pass cars going the speed limit, and even cars racing side by side each other so close to a school zone, which should actually be besides the point.

Multiple neighbors we’ve spoken with when we moved into the neighborhood have complained to the city in the past to no avail about getting speed humps installed because there “hasn’t been enough complaints”. what’s it going to take, a kid getting clipped and the driver running off? someone walking their dog or newborn to get hit? enough is enough. maybe the Mayor needs to step up and see what’s going on over here, or will she just call me names on her Social Media for complaint about something that’s not on her agenda, or for not asking nicely enough. as a Mayor Stewart voter and constituent, something needs to be done

It is hard to turn right on to Clinton St. from the corner of Corbin because there are cars there parked at the corner probably going to the store there and there are No Parking signs there. 252 Clinton St. I am so afraid that I may hit someone or a vehicle , and if there is traffic going both ways someone has to either pull more over or you just have to wait for other vehicles to go.

Weather is warming up & dirt bikes, mopeds & ATV's are already speeding up & down Lyons St. Even crossing Shuttle Meadow Ave. without stopping. Also loud music from cars that can be heard a block away with windows closed.
  • Church St New Britain, CT, 06051, USA - New Britain
Our street has become a thru way for excessive speeding cars. I titled this request in hopes it would shock you and cause a change here. Last summer our neighbor's puppy was hit by a speeding car who jumped the curb and killed the puppy on his own lawn.
This street needs a speed bump. I guarantee if the town put a little more effort in listening to it's people then it does to drawing honeycombs and closing down streets to paint more honeycombs, then I would feel safer walking my 10 month old in her stroller without the fear of being hit by a car. This city has had its history of hit and runs and fatalities due to speeding. I ask my request have some action to it. Please. For our kids. For all the church patrians on this block. Show you care.

50 Carroll St looks like a dump and sometimes a dump looks better. Parking on front lawn, mud all over the street when it rains, grass needs cutting. ETC, ETC. I think it's about time something is done about this property!
  • 534-552 Allen St New Britain, CT, 06053, USA - New Britain

Dear City of New Britain Officials,

I am writing this letter, brimming with disappointment, to address a continuing and blatant problem in our community. I hold the expectation that the city I call home should, at the very least, maintain a standard of cleanliness and upkeep worthy of its residents. Unfortunately, this expectation appears to be a tall order for the city council in charge of our daily operations.

I reported a vandalized street sign on Allen Street, a graffiti-infested eyesore, back on March 19, 2023. It is now June 10, 2023, nearly three months later, and the sign is still a glaring testament to your team's negligence. One must wonder, are the officials of New Britain so wrapped up in bureaucratic red tape that they can't manage even the simplest tasks such as replacing a defaced street sign?

As a taxpaying citizen, I am wholly dissatisfied with this lack of attention and the slow-moving nature of your city's response system. Our community deserves a municipal government that prioritizes cleanliness and safety, and it's clear from this instance that we are sorely lacking in that department.

This street sign, marred by ugly, incomprehensible scribbles, isn't just a sign - it represents the community's image and value. Every day that it stands defaced, it sends a message to the residents and visitors alike: We don't care enough about our city to maintain it.

I certainly did not move to New Britain to see my hard-earned tax dollars squandered on fruitless endeavors while basic municipal duties fall by the wayside. I'm tired of watching my neighborhood’s aesthetic and sense of safety deteriorate because of avoidable oversights.

I demand immediate action to rectify this situation. It's high time the city council rolls up its sleeves and starts putting our tax dollars to good use. This isn't a complex request, it's a simple plea for a modicum of responsibility and respect for our community.

Remember, it's the small things that make the biggest difference. It's not just about replacing a defaced street sign. It's about demonstrating respect for the city and its residents. So, do your job.

  • Derby St New Britain, CT, 06053, USA - New Britain
We need speed reducer signs on this street since drivers do not have control of the speed at which they pass through this road, here the children play, on October 9 a person caused an accident on this street.
  • Stanley Quarter Park - New Britain
There is a woman who walks around the park ringing a bell with every step she takes. Not only is it 630 in the morning, but its rather annoying. Not to mention, it also scares all the wildlife there. I stopped going to this park because of her.
  • 412 Lincoln St New Britain CT 06052, United States - New Britain
Cars parked on grass in public park. Cars often parked in this area on the street and block the right of way as the lane is so narrow on this side of the road. Could the city please consider no parking signs on this side due to the realignment of the road after the addition of the bike lanes? Thank you!

  • 38 Stewart St New Britain CT 06053, United States - New Britain

I am writing to express my immense disappointment and frustration with the city of New Britain's inaction concerning the property at 38 Stewart Street. Despite numerous complaints from myself and other residents, the property owner has yet to be ticketed or held accountable for the blatant violation of maintaining a lawn covered entirely in gravel.

As a resident of this community, I take pride in the appearance of our neighborhood and believe that it is essential for the city to enforce its regulations to maintain the integrity and beauty of our community. The gravel lawn at 38 Stewart Street not only detracts from the overall aesthetic of our neighborhood, but it also poses potential hazards to pedestrians, cyclists, and local wildlife.

It has come to my attention that city ordinances explicitly require property owners to maintain their lawns with grass, plants, or other vegetation. The fact that the owner of 38 Stewart Street has chosen to blatantly disregard these regulations is disheartening and disrespectful to fellow residents who invest time, effort, and resources into preserving the charm and appeal of our neighborhood.

The prolonged inaction on this matter is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the city's commitment to enforcing its own regulations. I must ask, why has it taken so long for the city of New Britain to take any meaningful action against the property owner at 38 Stewart Street? This lack of response undermines the city's credibility and fosters an environment where residents may feel emboldened to flout rules and regulations without fear of consequence.

I kindly request that the city of New Britain take immediate action to address this issue by issuing the appropriate fines or penalties to the property owner, and ensuring that the lawn at 38 Stewart Street is brought into compliance with city ordinances. I also ask that you keep concerned residents informed about the steps being taken to rectify this situation.

Our community deserves better, and it is your responsibility as city officials to ensure that our neighborhood remains a beautiful and safe place to live. I sincerely hope that this matter will be resolved promptly and that similar issues will be addressed with greater urgency in the future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your swift response and resolution.
