uber driver waiting for a pick up using bike lane as his waiting spot. he was adamant that he was doing nothing wrong

we need the bollard (or something more durable) back to prevent cars from using the bike lane as a parking spot and the city needs to enforce rules about parking and waiting on ride share drivers

The ambulance, fire, police could not get to hospital for a long time because of wide bike lanes.
  • 91 Brattle Street Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - West Cambridge

On the rainy evening of Jan 3rd, I was walking along Brattle St heading west and heard a loud crash as a car turning right from Mason St onto Brattle St apparently drove over the relatively new low profile concrete bike lane barriers. The car seemed to suffer some serious damage as parts fell off of the car from its underbody and rear.

This is a very dangerous, low-visibility situation at night for drivers and bicyclists, contrary to the intended purpose of the barriers to protect bicyclists. I recommend the City TPT look into this issue as soon as possible and consider painting high reflective paint on the barriers, remove the barriers (perhaps closest to the intersection), and/or determine better signage for drivers who, at that particular intersection, may be looking east for oncoming pedestrians and bicyclists and then advancing the turn before noticing and hitting the barrier.

As a driver and a bicyclist, I have not seen barriers like these elsewhere in the City. It does not seem like they add value, especially if drivers cannot see them and subsequently drive into the bike lane. If they are intended to preempt share rides from dropping off, this is the least likely location for such drop-offs given the low density, prevalence of owner-and institutionally-occupied housing and proximity to the T.

My photo of that particular spot did not come through, but I attach a photo further along on Brattle St which shows how difficult it is to see and perceive the barriers in the dark and wet conditions, despite streetlights.

The third floor resident of 11 Sacramento is flying a Russian nazi flag (the "z" flag) from their balcony. Our president has already declared Russia to be war criminals, do we have to tolerate Cambridge residents flying such hate symbols?

I was riding my bike at night and wiped out hard after my front bike tire collided with a flexi-post *stump* that wax protruding two inches from the road. I went over the handle bars and injured my back. The flexi post had been hit and disappeared weeks ago but the stump the held is major hazard especially for bikers at night. Please call at 617-596-2704 with any question. My name is Dan Smith. I’m the Senior Minister at First Church in Cambridge and live at the church parsonage/rectory at 44 Garden Street. I had been a supporter of the bike lane for bike safety reasons. This and other incidents (esp scooters using the bike lane in the wrong direction) have changed my mind.

People are setting up campsites in the area and using the Portland loo at night. Is there any way to leave the loo open at night, and allow the local homeless people to use it (so they don’t pee in the cemetery or on peoples’ properties) but to disallow the drug addicts who are illegally camping from using it? They behave in threatening and antisocial ways

car blocking bike lane even though there was an open legal spot across the street

we need actual enforcement. there is plenty of parking but people don't want to parallel park so they block travel lanes

Chasing people in the common area not letting them walk by. They should be removed from the city and put back in the wild
  • Garden St & Shepard St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
This is a request for bike specific “do not enter signs” to be placed at the end of Shepard St at the intersection of Garden St. Bikers who are heading to the Radcliffe Quad often take a right from Garden St onto Shepard and end up going the wrong way down Shepard which causes safety concerns for drivers and bikers going the right way. Would it be possible for signs to be added indicating bikes and scooters should not enter?
