While your at it could you put enhanced do not enter signs on every one way bicyclists routinely ignore across the city? It is really disappointing that all this work is being done to enhance bicycle safety then see cyclists riding the wrong way on pretty much every one way street in the City.

When the situation becomes dire the city then rewards the unsafe practice (see Brattle street) with a counter flow lane, which creates dangerous situations for pedestrians.

This bike lane on Garden Street is a colossal mistake. It’s time for the city to acknowledge this mistake and remove all traffic devices and signs.

Honestly, I think the Garden Street bike lane is great. From what I can tell, it has encouraged more people to bike, and traffic patterns on side streets and the surrounding areas have returned to the same level they were at pre-bikelane (https://www.cambridgeday.com/2022/12/18/attend-cambridge-meetings-from-dec-19-25-garden-street-traffic-and-limits-on-lab-buildings/). The real issue now is just making sure drivers, bikers, and pedestrians are all educated on road-sharing and sidewalk etiquette.

Sure, please publish the before and after traffic flow study you are using to support your point of view.

In some cases traffic on side streets has even decreased

Unclear how useful the data without dates. That allows for considering the factors that may have impacted the traffic on those days. What was the weather? Were schools open on those dates? What are the hours the data was collected? Do the days correspond with high or low regular travel? And, back to the original request, what kind of policy action makes sense when it requires constant addition of new signs and is based on assumptions not backed by data or easily explained?

I would rather the city explicitly allow contraflow biking down this street. So rather than a DNE I would add an 'except bikes' sign.
