The site is definitely being monitored - idling is an enormous citywide problem and I'm sure that the Clean Air Council is trying to prioritize where to intervene by mapping these "hot spots."
In the meantime, if you see idling you should call it into the police department. It's clearly an illegal behavior and calls may lead to action. In the short-term I'm not sure what else can be done besides calling it in and trying to get an officer out to intervene when it happens.
Thanks. Here's an idea: Print a flyer with a statement of the law that is being violated so that I can knock on the door of the idling buses and hand it to the drivers. As for the police, I assume it's a 311 call
If a bus, large commercial truck or construction equipment is observed to be running its engine while stationary, please contact the Air Management Services Unit at 215-685-7580.
All other vehicles, (cars, pickup trucks, vans, motorcycles, etc.), please report it to the Police Department at 911. Thank you. (mb)
