true & also the trash that was inside the outer fence of the dog park has been long since taken into the main field/park, so it would be nice to get another one there. and then there’s the matter of dog people throwing the bags all over the place around the entrance fencing to the dog park or not even picking up inside after their dogs at all. could we be a little more courteous, please, guys? i know we all like this park for our dogs to play in together. that means there’s a little caring and upkeep that needs to go into it. be an adult.
actually it is helpful to have the open bin within the confines of that first fence so one need not leave the dog park to throw out the bags... which is partly why i think some people leave them on the ground there (meaning to throw them out on their way out/home, and then end up forgetting them, perhaps). it was used when it was there. and clearly, anyway, if it isn’t picked up, one trash can is not enough..... but that’s beside the point.
Just walk the 15 feet to the trash can outside the park? The open can inside was smelly and rarely picked up. Amazing the conveniences new haven residents need to enable them to throw out trash - how about a trash can every 50 ft? Lol
jr, really not trying to get into a petty thing with you, but clearly you’ve never been a pet-parent to an anxious puppy/dog who goes nuts when you do walk that 15 feet (leaving them “alone” in the enclosed park). Either way, it was helpful and I know it smelled but I for one really did appreciate not having to open multiple gates and herd dogs (during busy hours, anyway) just to throw stuff away. Call me lazy, call it a first world problem; that doesn’t make what I said or feel illegitimate. Anyway, I’m not necessarily just speaking for myself, but commenting sort of on behalf of others at the dog park, or at least in response to my own observations there and how I think, yes, some people can’t seem to manage those extra steps to the outside trash, and how when the other bin was there, though it could get stinky, it was more convenient. And your other comment goes back to your original post — they should empty the trash more often, then.
