Description
There is a no parking sign on the left side of this photo that seems to indicate the one is not to park between the sign and the driveway. I have worked in the yellow building for three and a half years. In the past few days, we have seen cars being ticketed in front of our building. We all regularly park in these spaces and don't feel the signage adequately indicates where one can park and where one can NOT park. Plus, these tickets are new. Is the parking violations agent confused?

City of Raleigh, I think Abby is asking for clarification of why the ticketing just started. Several things: I live on the East Side of Moore Square. The Parking Ticket People are employees of a private firm, that gives them a quota of tickets to give out. I'm not sure if they make more money by giving out more tickets. They patrol the streets near my house looking for violators. One common thing they use over here is 'A car must be more than 5 feet from a driveway'. There is a space near my house, where they frequently ticket cars on this issue. To me this falls in the same category as when they measure the distance from the curb to ticket people. The thing, with the city and the parking, is the Parking Agents know the 'Rules' and they are very inflexible. I don't know all the rules, but they got me one time. It's a lot of money.
I'm sorry they found you. Abby, Your comments and questions are factual and respectful. Hopefully you will get some more helpful information from other replies than you got from City of Raleigh. Thanks.
