The sign on the mast arm of the new traffic signal is the correct one. Although the northbound movement out of O'Brien operates as two lanes, there is only one lane.

I sincerely think this needs to be reviewed. On the opposite side of the road, Pinnacle turning west or moving straight...that 'two lane' is as wide. There is going to be a HUGE bottle neck and congestion there. The road is even wider than the receiving road into Pinnacle, making it logical to the eyes that there is a right turning lane. People can't turn left to save their lives especially in the morning onto Wapiti Road heading north....this is the only 'real logical' exit out of the entire OBrien. Suggestion: build the light system there to make two viable exits that flow appropriately and also, better put up some super duper tapering cement barriers if you`re insistent on making that a one lane BEFORE the lights come into play.

As well from that exit there is a bus stop just before it. So the exit is wide enough for a public bus to stop on the right and still have vehicles pass on the left. I feel it is wide enough to accommodate a right hand turn lane, without impeding the bus stop. As I pass that intersection several times a day there is always many vehicles making that right hand turn that would now have to wait for the light. I recognize that this intersection has been operated incorrectly for years (people using it as two lanes vs one) but it is how it's been running without accidents- I would recommend if possible that it is reviewed again for adjustments that would allow it to be two lanes.

Thank you for your comments. The city understands that the northbound direction operates as two separate lanes with passenger vehicles. However, based on design guidelines, the width of the northbound lane movement is not wide enough to accommodate the minimum requirements per lane. There is no plans for upgrading this movement to widen the lane at this point of time.
