Hi CityloverBTV. Thanks bringing this up. CVS reported at their store opening last Sunday, that they will soon be installing photos of Vermont landscapes where you see the white window decals. We're looking forward to seeing that change as well! Ron Redmond, Church St Marketplace, 802-238-5598, rredmond@burlingtonvt.gov

That window is ugly as sin... it reminds me of the CVS in Williston, which for months refused to dim its harsh outside lighting that was bothering the neighbors and destroying their view of the night sky. This is not a company that cares about aesthetics or the local community, I'm afraid.
Scott Gustin of Planning & Zoning reports what they are doing is not permitted. They are in contact with them alongside Code Enforcement. Please stay tuned. Ron Redmond
The Zoning Administrator has asked Code Enforcement to send a warning letter to the property, 29 Church Street regarding the window coverings. If the issue is not corrected, a Zoning Notice of Violation would be issued.
The waning letter sent by our office was unsuccessful in resolving this issue. A zoning notice of violation was sent earlier this month to the property owners.
The zoning administrator notified me today that the coverings were taken down. This issue is now closed.
What is visible now may not look nice but it is not a zoning violation. CVS is working on a longer term improvement that should be in place sometime this winter.
We recommend you contact the store management to tell them you do not like the current look. The city cannot make them change something that is not a violation.
