The entire length of Grant St (from Elmwood to No Union) is on Street Division's list to grind down and completely repave. This work will be done before the end of the year now that the storm water work is over - this issue is closed.

This will be a dirt road until it gets paved. The paving company is scheduled to go onto the street and remove the remaining asphalt. After the asphalt is removed it will be regarded and then paved.

If it is going to continue to be a dirt road you should put a sign up that says "We couldn't figure out the dang timing of destroying a road and fixin' 'er.. so we're justa gonna leave like a dirt road for a spell, ya'hear".

Can a city official please indicate when this work is scheduled to start and end?

Thank you for your input on the project. The work that has recently been happening is installation of stormwater treatment devices to clean up the City’s water. This work needed to happen in advance of paving to ensure that there is little or no damage/cuts into the finished product. We understand that it keeps Grant Street under construction for longer than some of the other streets selected for paving. As for the paving work, the contractor will grind up the entire road to dirt in the next week or so and regrade the road, it will remain a dirt road for a few more weeks this is how this type of construction progresses. The first course of paving is scheduled for early September, following which catch basins and manholes will need to be raised to the street surface, with final paving happening near the end of September or early October.
