Description

Why do we expect these men and women to stand in the middle of the avenue in oppressive heat and freezing cold to direct traffic that could be directed by a light? Most pedestrian don't wait for them to say "cross" anyway. It seems inhumane. At the very least, let's construct booths or some type of coverage!

Agreed. Pedestrians rarely listen to the cops who say "stop" unless they are personally yelled at, and many drivers try to drive past the cops while pedestrians are walking despite being told to stop. A small standalone light on each corner that has a pedestrian sign would better serve the town and get the police officers back to doing real work.
