Littering in New Have is a $159 offense. The city needs money to fill potholes and keep kids in school and out of trouble. Let's get after the litterbugs (too kind a word; maybe should be litterpigs).
And can we please all start speaking up about this and making enough noise so that it gets attention and action from the office of Mayor Toni Harp?
Mayor, where are you? You'll make a lot of people happy if you start a clean up New Haven campaign, raise money from the fines to be used for playgrounds or homeless shelters.
Just please take some action on the huge amount of filth here. And when you do so, make a big deal of it -- announce it, spread the word, revel in the results.
