Description
MOST of the display is on private property, but this property's war mongering has gotten out of control. The Yellow Ribbons on the public trees should not be allowed. That is not their private property. As for the bloody "RAGE" sign, that really is in low-class, and it distracts drivers. I respect the sacrifice of our armed forces, and the 1st Amendment, but this display is very distracting and potentially dangerous.

Just shameful. I for one am proud to have a family of this caliber living in my neighborhood. And i too am glad he is home in one piece.

Councilman, whether or not you "have a problem" with the yellow bows being on the trees is irrelevant.
Is it legal to usurp public property for your private property display?
thanks for your attention to this matter.

Disgusting, Jordan, to whine about those who protect your commie butt.
Yeah, why don't you go over there in spit right in that servicemans face, ya punk.

Does this issue need to be reopened? Got a problem? West Haven-- it's TIME TO EVOLVE. Blind Patriotism has gotten you NOWHERE. You are living in poverty and you wave the flag for no real reason other than it's what you think you should do. You love your country while your town and family fall apart from alcoholism, abandonment, and foreclosure. JANICE- You'll find North Korea has propaganda all over the place that looks just like this front yard! Jake-- "Commie"? Welcome to the 21st century, bud. This display is sickening and it is time to grow up. The OP respected the 1st amendment and respected the servicemen... he just had a problem with the tacky display overtaking the street. Time to take it down a notch. Welcome home.
Also--- what about the sign that was across from Walgreens up until 2011 that said "America Fights Back, Take No Prisoners!". How SAD is that?
Grow up. Your liberties are granted by your Creator, not by your country.

As far as distracted drivers go...if such a display is that much of a distraction they should either pull over to honor the display or have the common sense to realize that they shouldn't be driving if this "distraction" can be a hazard. Perhaps you my friend should find a hobby that doesn't require either common sense or decency as you appear to be lacking in both.

As soon as you used the phrase "war mongering," I realized where you were coming from.
The display is no more dangerous than living on Walnut Street in general.
Here's a possible solution: Get a grip.

Now that the RAGE sign is down, the whining OP can relax.
Yellow ribbons are part of our culture, and they are well within the
rights of Americans to display.
The ribbon on the Tree is not the only sign on public property on that road...
I walk Savin quite a bit... there are some funny signs nailed to trees.
