the same situation exists in the Somerset/Kensal Green Subdivisions. If people have driveways their cars should be parked in their respective driveways. I walk everyday with my dog and I'm always dodging cars. Wish Metro would do something about this. Can't this cars be ticketed.

Parking in a bike lane is illegal in Metro. Call the non-emergency number and report illegal parking. 862-8600

those lanes are not designated as Bike lands, in order for them to be there has to be a bike symbol in them and I have not seen such. So you would be wasting your time calling Metro they won't ticket those cars.

according to the resource officer who was at our Home Owners Association, did state they are not bicycle lanes because they are not designated as such. The resource officer was actually a police officer from the Hermitage precinct.

Having bikeways installed can have a traffic calming effect which could lead to slower traffic. People can still walk in bike lanes as long as there is not an adjacent sidewalk and walkers/runners travel in the opposing direction to vehicles and cyclist. This is to allow the walkers to see any vehicles as a safety measure in case they have to make a quick decision to avoid an oncoming vehicle that may encroach into bike lane.
