Many neighbors are exhausted from the high speed traffic on Twin Pines. Since installation of speed detection devices at Northeast High, more people from Jones County are cutting through our neighborhood at 60+ mph. It is dangerous to pull out of my driveway, much less get the mail, or place/remove trash bins. It is normal to smell dead deer, from the numerous incidents per year, which happen along this stretch of our neighborhood. It's only a matter of time before something bad happens. We believe just lowering the speed limit, is not enough. We need speed bumps along Twin Pines, to ensure the safety of people traveling, as well as the people who reside here. We also believe a roundabout, or some other form of intersection, needs to be place at Twin Pines/Hawthorne/Briarcliff, as we have seen many close accident encounters. We should be able to walk our street safely, as any of the other neighbors in our neighborhood, but when we do, it is unnerving to say the least. There have been so many requests for something to be done over the years, but the issue has continually gotten worse, with zero feedback, or updates. I would like to know if a petition from the neighborhood would help, or what we could do to help facilitate some change. Thank you!
