Description
Is there any money in the budget to pave some of the major streets in the downtown area? For beginners, Wooster Street is a disaster. Crown street from beginning to end needs repaving. Chapel Street, from upper chapel to maybe Wooster Pl. could use some help also. I cannot give you exact locations, but if a supervisor drives the streets they will see what I am talking about. This is not a great way to welcome visitors to New Haven by bouncing all around in their cars.

We have released our list of phase 2 fall milling and paving on our website.

We perform milling and paving twice a year in the spring and fall. However throughout the year we will patch areas that require immediate attention.

Exactly who makes these decisions for what streets need to be paved? In looking at the list of streets that will be paved in the fall do you think that 3/4 of those are more heavily traveled than Wooster Street or Crown Street or upper chapel to Wooster place? Unbelievable! There’s that much traffic on Oakley Street that it has to be paved?
Can we keep this topic open so that maybe in the spring the streets I mentioned above could be included in the list?
