Tonight, Tuesday at 7:00 Trash can was about one foot from the public sidewalk. dont know if they have pickup tomorrow but if so the can will be placed on the greenspace (between sidewalk and street. otherwise, it should not be anywhere in the front by the sidewalk.

This is a photo from last night. about two weeks ago i posted one with the can overloaded with trash and all over the sidewalk as well as grass.. front steps of building has junk on it too...... these cans were always kept out back. this bulding is on top of the sidewalk almost... and sometiems smells in that area. and it looks like heck. I would say its the closest trash can to the sidewalk of anywhere on North Ave. on pickup day i can see it but not every day of everyweek now.

So Bill, What is the code for distance from public sidewalks or streets for trash cans or recyle containers everyday, not on pick up day... this trashcan was approx 10 inches from sidewalk today. there is a lot of room six foot back next to building, as well as both sides of building and out back. This is really number one does not look good,,,,,,,, number two is sometimes it stinks, and number three i think its considered public property. . picture does not show it well but the trashcan taken on that day was about 12 inches from sidewalk. no need for it to be so close. We have monitored it too and have not found the trash to be overflowing or a sanitation hazard. The bin is not stored on the greenbelt which is city property and would be prohibited. The trash toter should technically be back about 3 feet further than it currently is so it is not stored in the front yard. Storing trash in the front yard is what is prohibited, not a specific distance from the sidewalk. The attached photo was taken a few weeks ago while we were monitoring.

We have passed that same information on to the property owner to have the tenants store the toter properly.

A couple of months ago this unit was reported with trash all over, picture was on here. and then just a couple of weeks ago they had recycle out three days early. the recycle is kept on front step which is about five feet (guessing) from sidewalk. and it does overflow. Trash has not overflown lately, but if th can is ten inches from sidewalk on front lawn i think and feel the landlord should be told to inform and enforce the code.. both sides of the building could be used for storage. as well as behind . I walk by here almost everyday or night. for almost a week they were moving the trash can back to the side of building, but now its been kept right out by sidewalk. thnk its the only trash can on all of N. Ave like this.

The bins were removed and have stayed off the front yard.

yup past few days trash can has been away from sidewalk along side of building,,,, Much better for smell and looks,,,,,,,, recycle bins on front step messy. just one of those odd type set ups where the front door is close to the sidewalk and of course the wind blows the recycle no matter where they keep it when outside. .
