Deskripsyon

Shortly after we bought our house on Mariomi Road, a row of orange posts was added on the downstream side of the bridge. The posts are constantly falling over or missing, and are a huge eyesore. We felt tricked--we bought a house near a charming bridge, and then the bridge was made ugly. What is going on, and are the posts temporary?

In addition to the ugliness, which all of us who live on Mariomi and Cheese Spring have to see with every trip, we have been told for a long time that 1) the bridge is dangerous and 2) it will be repaired soon. We also were told that Mariomi was repaved all the way to Valley. It was not. The repaving stops just short of the bridge and serious road deterioration follows to Valley. During the 2010-11 winter months there was a pot hole there large and deep enough to lose a half a wheel in!

Not sure if you have contacted Public Works directly, but the Mariomi Bridge is slated for repair after the Hickok Bridge is completed. I just read in the paper that it should be finished in May (YIKES, doesn't bode well for the time Mariomi Bridge will be out).

Bridge is now under construction and closed for a year. Yikes! The workers are hardly ever there--mostly they just leave a big mess for us all to look at. With the kind of "progress" that they're making, I'll be surprised if they finish it within a year! There has to be a better way.
