This is an ongoing problem. Someone is going to get hit crossing between the cars. This has been reported many times, but we don't ever see parking enforcement at Hoffman Park. On Sundays and Mondays, those of us who live here will get ticketed for being on the wrong side of the street though.

They also block the mid-block crosswalks at Twiller and Hoffman, along with parking on both sides of Hoffman from McCarty to Corlear. And they park badly, a foot or two from the curbs They also stop in the middle of Hoffman to drop people off, with complete disregard to the traffic, block the views for anyone trying to turn from Twiller onto Hoffman; I'm surprised that there hasn't been a collision so far. Living on Twiller, I've had people partially block our driveway, leave garbage in the street. It's like an invasion, and they have no regard for the people living in this neighborhood.

Parking enforcement looks the other way because it is 'for the kids'. Well, it isn't the kids. It is the parents that are too lazy to park on a street nearby or the parking lot at the rec center and walk to the field.
They park about 8 cars a night past the multiple signs that say 'NO PARKING'. It actually stops traffic when a car is coming the opposite direction. There is no way a truck could get through with 2-way traffic. I think nobody wants to confront that crowd.
It really needs to be addressed. It has not been enforced, so now it is blatantly disregarded knowing no consequences will come. It would only take a couple consecutive weeks of ticketing to clear up the problem.

And yes, they park on and between the crosswalks on Hoffman as well. Lots of good parents here, parking where they should, and the others that don't care about anyone's convenience but their own.

Does anyone know the volunteers that manage the Pop Warner? (years ago I would have.) We've talked with police, but I'm not sure anyone has discussed the traffic accident risks with the kids leaders?

And they are at it again today, October 19, 2021. Parked up Hoffman, just past Twiller. Once again blocking the crosswalks at Twiller.

No exceptions. It’s every game.

10 Car last night again. Nothing is being done. After hours when APA is already home. This will likely never be resolved. All it would take is one or two nights of ticketing.

Once again cars are parked up and down Hoffman, both sides from McCarty to Twiller, and blocking the crosswalks. This is more like See, Click, Ignore. I look forward to the end of football season.

No - this has never ever been addressed. Signs are there, painted lines there, but nobody from the city has ever addressed this. All it would take is a few officers from parking enforcement to ticket folks when it happens.

Money was spent on the making of the laws, the signs, the paint and all the approvals, plans and labor that went with it - but zero enforcement makes it all a waste of taxpayer money. Everyone got paid along the way for 'doing their job' but it is worthless if it isn't enforced.

Folks are too lazy to park where they should and walk and makes it hard for everyone else. These selfish inconsiderate folks still need to be addressed and this needs to stay open until someone spends some time on how to prevent it from happening next year instead of just waiting for it to happen again and ignore it until the season is over.
