Notified About

  • 692-698 Rugby Road Brooklyn, New York - City Council District 40

It would be more desirable if the production company who have taped all of their notices to the newly installed light-poles used string (instead of tape).

Unless of course they plan to fund repainting each and every pole which will be damaged when the packing tape used to secure the notice tears off the paint?

Can we please have the City of NY make this a rule—this is not the first time this has occurred and has been complained about!?

In this instance this appears to have happened all the way down Rugby Road from Foster Ave to Ave H.

  • 2313 Newkirk Avenue Brooklyn, New York - City Council District 40
Almost every evening, weather permitting, residents on Newkirk Ave between Flatbush Ave and E 23rd St are blasting music either in front of their building or from a parked vehicle . The police department doesn't usually respond to noise complaints filed around 8 or 9 pm until midnight or much later. The noise and the music from Newkirk can be heard and the base can be felt at my home on Stephens Ct. This evening, I filed a noise complaint # C1-1-1588920771 at 7:32 pm and received an unusually prompt response at 8:47 pm stating that "The Police Department responded to the complaint and with the information available observed no evidence of the violation at that time". This is not true. The music did not stop nor was it lowered. I tried to contact the 67th precinct at (718) 287-3211, but the operator does not pick up the phone. I am not sure what to do, because clearly the police department appears to be ignoring this quality of life issue. And generally, the police patrolling this area do not engage the residents regarding noise unless a complaint has been filed, even though their behavior is in clear violation of the NYC Noise Code. Thank you for your help.

416 Ocean Ave #43, Brooklyn, NY, USA - City Council District 40
Heavy Through-Truck Traffic is creating unsafe conditions in a dense residential, park-lined neighbourhood street. The DOT's recent truck mobility study acknowledges the problem. However, beyond identifying the intersection of Caton and Flatbush as one of the Top 5 Truck Accident sites in the Boro and numerous complaints there is little quantifiable data on the issue.
  • 1510 Cortelyou Rd Brooklyn, NY - City Council District 40
There is such a deluge of bird droppings on the platform at the Cortelyou Road MTA station that people often slip in the slimy goop, especially when it rains. This morning I witnessed a woman slip and then fall into the muck. It's disgusting, a health hazard, and needs to be cleaned.
