Here we go AGAIN! The intersections of Chaney Thompson - Mt. Gap and Chaney Thompson - Wynsom are back to being very dangerous during school drop off and pick up times. I witnessed 2 near misses on Chaney Thompson and 3-4 on Wynsom this morning alone. All of these were from drivers not following traffic laws: making U-turns at street entrances, not yielding to oncoming traffic, not having proper following distances (sometimes barely any distance at all), etc. We have asked repeatedly for increased traffic enforcement at these intersections. It has been periodically provided and individuals continue the dangerous behaviors in front of officers with no penalty. At what point is the safety of those around the school important? I've been nearly hit several times by people using my driveway as a turnaround at unsafe speeds. When will the safety of children walking home become a priority? Please help make our neighborhood safe again.

Increased traffic and excessive westbound speeds on weatherly are making left turns from Hickory Hill difficult and dangerous. It’s becoming a 50mph road and that’s difficult to turn on to.

A telcom contractor is adding more cable to an old pole marked for over a year to be replaced and is being held up to the new pole with wire. Why doesn't the city enforce the agreement with these companies and force them to move their lines to the new poles?

Telecome installer drove on my lawn, leaving ruts. They also left an unburied cable, and left the telecom box open with wires hanging everywhere.

Speed bumps have been a nice addition to Midtowne on the Park and has helped deterred some speeding. Unfortunately, drivers can avoid speed bumps on Pegasus Drive and Midtowne Lane by squeezing between the bump and the curb.

This has created a risk for homeowners checking their mailboxes as cars come close to the curb at fast speeds. Also, the curb next to the speed bumps are getting damaged by cars colliding with the curb while driving at a fast speed to avoid the bump.

Drivers trying to avoid the speed bumps also create traffic confusion as it sometimes appear they are trying to pull over to stop to park, tricking drivers behind them who may start to drive around them.

Is there anything that can be done to modify our speed bumps that will prevent drivers from driving around them on the curb side?

    Thank you,
    Concerned Resident

Upon completion of the sidewalk upgrade & paving of Valley View Dr, the work-crew deposited leftover asphalt material onto the corner of VV & Weatherly RD, near the Stop sign. {I understand from the City I am responsible for upkeep of this area & will do so, mowing it & clipping tree branches to maintain visibility for traffic.} It is a small mess, but problematic. If you could have a crew simply clear off the asphalt material thrown about, I can & will take it from there... no replanting required.
However, you might inspect the level of finish & debris left at where the sidewalk was modified - is that up to spec? Thanks,

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck at this red light with no cars coming through the intersection. There’s clearly an error in its programming. Can you take a look, please?

There is a yield sign at the intersection of Monte Sano Blvd and Hwy 431 that needs to be larger or have lights around it. People blow thru that yield when coming W from Hampton Cove and turning on to Monte Sano. Just the other day, when it was really foggy, I had the green turn arrow to turn onto Mpnte Sano. It was a good thing I hesitated, since a gray SUV came thru that "yield" going about 50 or 60 mph.I've seen this over and over again, and almost forget it's there myself. Maybe larger sign or lights would help.

Why doesn't the city prevent cable companies from adding NEW wires to OLD poles regardless of what position they are on the OLD pole. They are adding NEW wires. New poles were put up on Todd Mill in 2017 since then no lines have been moved to the new poles but additional lines have been added to old poles.

Why does this truck have no identification indicating the name of their company or the company they are working for on it?

This has been going on for over two years. What does the city consider enough time for the process to be addressed? Five years, a decade? Does the city consider it safe to simply tie for years now in some cases, leaning old poles to new poles to prevent them from falling over?

Our sewer line backed up during heavy blasting as part of the Carl T. Jones construction during the week of 18-21 Feb 2019. We called Roto Rooter who ran a camera down the sewer line and discovered the PVC had been completely severed with a clean break resulting in a 3" separation between the line and the broken pipe. All of this occurred at approximately 5ft depth and away from any trees or tree roots. The plumber said the giant limestone boulder had clearly moved and severed the sewer line the day we contacted them. According to the City's Terpo Seismographic Services contractor, our home is located within 800 ft of the Carl T. Jones blasting area. I have attached an image that shows the Roto Rooter plumber and the boulder in the excavated area where our sewer line was crushed. We have repaired the sewer line, but at a cost of $3,096.74 to Roto Rooter. Please help me identify how to file this claim.

It is 0347 in the morning and I am up writing this because these dogs have had my whole family up all night again. They bark 24/7. This has to stop... My wife has used this outlet to reach out to the city's animal control and all that would hear her complaint on this several weeks ago. This past Friday afternoon these same 3 dogs attached me in my drive. I had to kick two of them and holler at them to try to get them to stop. They had me trapped up against the side of my house and I could not get away from them. There owner heard me hollering and came and grabbed his dogs. What would of been the results of this attack had it been my young son or our 80 year old neighbor across the street? The result would of been very bad. These animals have to go.... they are a threat to the public and a nuisance by the city's own definition of the law in Huntsville.
