Historic District

Ward Avenue NE needs a stop sign at the intersection with England Street. There is a hill that is difficult to see over. Traffic flies down Ward Ave at speeds well over the limit frequently. Several houses on the 1000 block of Ward have children. The road is very dangerous in that section. A stop sign would force traffic to slow down and be more cautious of cars backing out of driveways and children playing when heading west over the hill.

407 Holmes Avenue NE has a public sidewalk that is made of bricks and there are some areas where the bricks are not level creating a tripping hazard. 403 and 405 Holmes Avenue NE also have the same brick sidewalk.

The city code of ordinances states the following:
"No sidewalk shall be built of brick or of any material other than that prescribed by the Engineering Standards for Construction of Public Improvements (1991 edition) unless authorized by the city engineer."

The city needs to remove the brick sidewalks at the properties on Holmes Avenue that have them and replace with poured in place concrete like the majority of the street has.

Sec. 23-85. - Material for sidewalks.
No sidewalk shall be built of brick or of any material other than that prescribed by the Engineering Standards for Construction of Public Improvements (1991 edition) unless authorized by the city engineer.

The street light on the southeast corner of Lincoln St and Eustis is inoperative.

Very broken and uneven sidewalk creating a situation where where rain water fills a hole that’s been created and floods area.

There is a street light out ON PRATT AVENUE right NEXT TO the Hardee's that is at 300 Andrew Jackson Way. The light out is on Pratt Avenue.

The sign letters for "Five Points Cleaners" have worn off of the awning at 714 Pratt Avenue NE.

There is a significant section with missing and broken curbs. It is causing the soil to just wash down the street every time it rains, which has significantly lowered the ground level in portions of this block where the curbs are missing.

Why has Clinton Ave been closed between Greene St and Lincoln Ave? and how long will it continue?

Hissing sound coming from water meter and icicle frozen patch of ground between meter and street. It appears to quickly getting worse.

The owners have installed an unsightly, gray and yellow plastic/PVC chain system in their front lawn. Because this is in a historic district, I can't imagine the Histroic Commission approved the install, nor is it original to the home. Please have it removed.
