We are an organized group of residents and business owners whose goal is to improve the quality of life within our targeted boundaries (East Outer Drive (North), House St (South), Van Dyke (West) Conner (East)).

    The grass at this address has not been cut. The property owner, Jasmine McMorris of Great Lakes Property, continues to show this property to prospective tenants even though the property does not have a Lead-Clearance Report or a Certificate of Compliance issued by BSEED.

    Alleyway East Of Van Dyke Between E Lantz St And Rolyat St Detroit, Michigan - US Congressional District MI13

    The alleyway has collapsed so that no traffic can pass. This alley is an area behind active businesses on Van Dyke so the blockage causes significant traffic congestion. I spoke with someone from the water department looking at another issue and he believed the alleyway problem has already been assessed so that what we need now is an action plan.

    The problem may involve a broken main sewer line, which is the responsibility of the property owner who, in this case, may be unable to pay. This may require special consideration but one way or another, this alleyway needs to be fixed so cars can pass.

    Furthermore, the hole is deep enough to create a hazard.

    9-1-206a "Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the building or structure." Plants growing out of debris on the roof causes rot of the underlying roof deck, which will cause the roof to collapse.

    9-1-206b "Water running off of the roof shall not be discharged in a manner that undermines the foundation or maintenance of any building" The detached downspout is sending water straight to the foundation, which will cause the foundation to be undermined.
