Notified About

  • 407 Holmes Ave Ne Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville

407 Holmes Avenue NE has a public sidewalk that is made of bricks and there are some areas where the bricks are not level creating a tripping hazard. 403 and 405 Holmes Avenue NE also have the same brick sidewalk.

The city code of ordinances states the following:
"No sidewalk shall be built of brick or of any material other than that prescribed by the Engineering Standards for Construction of Public Improvements (1991 edition) unless authorized by the city engineer."

The city needs to remove the brick sidewalks at the properties on Holmes Avenue that have them and replace with poured in place concrete like the majority of the street has.

Sec. 23-85. - Material for sidewalks.
No sidewalk shall be built of brick or of any material other than that prescribed by the Engineering Standards for Construction of Public Improvements (1991 edition) unless authorized by the city engineer.
    (Code 1982, § 20-85)

  • 908 Southeast California Street Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
The tennis courts at California Street Park need some attention. Leaves and debris stay on the courts year round. Mud washes onto the courts during heavy rain. The asphalt path from the parking lot has been raised by tree roots creating a tripping hazard. A simple fix for the courts would be to have the landscaping crew blow them off each time they mow the surrounding grass area.

Big Spring Park Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
Most large cities that I visit have dog bag stations at their parks. This encourages owners to pick up their waste and allows for citations when owners do not. I think Big Spring Park and other parks throughout town would benefit

  • 2210 Poincianna St Sw Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
There was an auto accident and HPD called for a tow truck to remove a non-drivable vehicle from the street. The tow truck was positioning itself and the driver ran over the storm drain cover, breaking the concrete that held it in place and lifted the steel cover over a foot in the air before the cvs bet slammed down. My husband went out and repositioned the cover as best he could and put the broken concrete on the cover hoping to warn the walking school children NOT to walk on or over it.

The street and curb is crushed in front of our house at 2016 Stanford Dr. Also there is yard damage in front and back from the weight of the crane and equipment.

Hsv Utilities cut a large trench down center of street to replace water, sewer or drain pipes. The gravel fill is washing, spreading onto surrounding streets and has developed multiple large pot holes.
Please consider repaving the trench cut ASAP. Gravel and grey water wash everywhere when it rains. Thanks.
