  • Fort Hamilton Parkway And Prospect Expressway Brooklyn, NY - Park Slope
To get to the Fort Hamilton Parkway F/G station from Fort Hamilton on the west side of the Prospect Expressway, one major access route is a path that goes under a bridge that crosses the expressway. Every time it rains, the passageway floods, leaving an enormous puddle that is impossible to cross. This has been going on for a very long time: http://www.kensingtonprospect.com/news/dont-forget-your-flippers
  • 700 E 17th St Brooklyn, NY 11230, USA - City Council District 40
2 years ago this homeowner illegally constructed an addition in violation of landmarks, under cover, during labor day weekend. he was issued a stop work order. today i see he has resumed work, still with no permits, and still in violation of landmark status! we have been fighting him for 2 years, and cannot believe! he has not been fined heavily and forced to tear down this structure. it violates his F.A.R. significantly, is constructed on top of his driveway, destroys the landmark nature of the house and neighborhood, and sits far too close to the neighbors. STOP HIM IMMEDIATELY! FINE HIM HEAVILY PLEASE!!!!!!!!! He also is a bad man, having intentionally tried to cause physical harm to the old man next door, who has now passed away. He used to throw garbage on the neighbor's porch, among other acts, hoping to cause the old man to fall. The widow now has her property illegally encroached upon and lives in fear of the temper of this selfish person.
  • 625 E 18th St Brooklyn, NY 11226, USA - City Council District 40
External lights on this building are left on all night long. After receiving a complaint from this community board, there was a brief period that the lights were turned off at night. Now they are back on again all night including additional lights over the balconies. It is so bright in my apartment that I am having trouble sleeping. Seems these lights can be timed to turn off after 9 pm
  • Newkirk Plaza Q/B Train Stop - City Council District 40

The MTA has been refurbishing the train station but apparently the Newkirk Ave bridge over the platform has not been a part of the project.

As a result, the pigeons are all flocking to the underpass and their droppings are covering the platform and anyone who walks under them at the wrong time.

In addition their droppings are damaging the platform. The MTA needs to electrify or take other action to drive away the birds.

  • No Sidewalk Archived
    1201-1213 E 15th St Brooklyn, NY - Brooklyn Community Board 14
The East side of the street has no sidewalk just mud and broken glass in front of the corner lot. Also, there is a Mechanic's garage that is always blocking the sidewalk with numerous damaged cars all day long. Plus it should be made a one way street, it is way to narrow to traverse in two directions. There are schools on the block, and school busses are forced to squeeze past the other cars making for very unsafe conditions.
Locust and East 15th should be made one way streets, and have proper sidewalks put in. It is not a safe place for people to walk or drive kids to school.
  • 7th Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11217 - Park Slope
Trucks on 7th Avenue have no respect for residents or their environment, leaving their engines on while drivers deliver goods to nearby restaurants and shops. The trucks cause unnecessary pollution, noise and nuisance. If you're parked, turn your noise-making engine OFF!
  • 2281 Church Avenue - City Council District 40
Excessively loud music can be heard from this nightclub / catering hall, Fridays and Saturday nights. The music has tremendous bass that shakes the window frames, and can be felt from the street. The Noise usually lasts well past 5:00am. Calls to 311 to request that the police remedy the situation have gone unheeded.
  • 400 Argyle Rd Brooklyn, NY - City Council District 40
There are group of guys who loiter on Argyle outside the Salahi deli. They start in the evening and are there until the early morning. They drink, smoke pot, yell, fight, and urinate on the adjacent properties. They hit people up for money in a threatening manner, and leave their litter and bottles in and around parked cars, on the sidewalk, etc. And, their noise disturbs the people in the building above them.
  • 1041 Coney Island Ave Brooklyn, NY 11230, USA - City Council District 40
The site was formerly occupied by Elite Car Rental and now a parking lot and lot full of junk. Outside of the fence along the sidewalk is piles of litter. It never seems to be cleaned up and maintained. The litter is next to PS 217.
  • John's Bakery Archived
386 Rugby Rd Brooklyn, NY 11226, USA - City Council District 40
John's Bakery's garbage is out of control. Every weekend, especially by Sunday morning the commercial bin is overflowing with garbage so that by Sunday night the sidewalk is filled with cardboard boxes and broken garbage bags. The hauler comes at 1:00 in the morning and then two days later the garbage is overflowing out of the commercial bin again. I have seen sanitation agents there chatting with the owner and ignoring the situation.
