Bike rack in Person St. area! Archived300-306 Pace Street Raleigh, North Carolina - Blount CorridorA bike rack or two in the Person St. area would be great!
-
Other Archived800 N Blount St Raleigh, NC 27604, USA - Blount CorridorVehicles regularly ignore pedestrian crossing. Signage for cars and pedestrians needs to be more clear. Very dangerous for pedestrians with cars speeding around the corner and rarely breaking for pedestrians (who technically have the right of way).

Bicycle Parking Archived616 N Person St Raleigh, NC - Blount CorridorThere are no bike racks along this section of Person Street. If no racks are provided, people will park on poles and trees, sometimes damaging them. I was informed that there is an issue in providing bicycle racks along the corridor because NCDOT has been a barrier. Although this may just be a rumor, bicycle racks are still needed in this corridor (now) and should be included in any future plans!

Holden Street Beautification Project Archived735-799 Holden St Raleigh, NC - Mordecai
Where Holden Street meets Brookside Drive, there is a section of overgrowth that is not ideal. Garbage, vines, weeds, dirty signs, and erosion combine at the entrance to our neighborhood. We are also noticing this is a location for loitering at night due to low lighting and low visibility. With a little bit of planning and cooperation with neighbors and the city of Raleigh, we can transform this plot into a beautiful entrance to Oakdale.
We need the City of Raleigh's help with the following, please:
- Schedule time with a Parks and Rec Tree representative to instruct on what volunteers are allowed to do with regards to trimming brush, vines and trees along the right-of-way. (Yes, we already have permission from the property owner) Also, instruct us on what plants such as bushes, trees, perennials to plant.
- Who can work with us to have mulch delivered, so volunteers can spread it along the right-of-way.

Other Archived405 West Peace Street Raleigh, North Carolina - MordecaiWhile the road is under construction, the pedestrian path crosses the capital boulevard exit and entrance ramp. There are no markings for pedestrians and no suggestions to the drivers to look for people on foot. Many, many people (including students) walk this way every single day and it is not clear or safe. A stop sign instead of a yield sign would be a nice first step. But also a watch or yield for pedestrians sign should be installed.

Pedestrian crossing needed ArchivedChestnut St Raleigh, NC - Blount Corridor
A pedestrian crossing is needed for crossing Wake Forest Road at Chestnut Street. There are lots of people who need to cross Wake Forest here - families walking to Conn Elementary, pedestrians walking to the bus stop, the post office letter carrier. There is a lot of traffic on Wake Forest, and I have seen people crossing at this spot in dangerous situations at all times of the day. It is just a matter of time before someone gets hit by a speeding car.
I'd like for the city to add a button-activated crosswalk with a stoplight at the Wake Forest/Chestnut intersection.

Benches/boulders at Meadowbrook? Archived614 Frank St Raleigh, NC 27604, USA - Mordecai
Neighbors have expressed interest in having some place to sit while their kids play here. I know benches are expensive, but would the city perhaps be able to spare a few 2' or 3' tall boulders until benches could be budgeted and bought?
Thanks!

After Hours / Critical Issues Archived251-293 West Peace Street Raleigh, NC 27603, USA - Mordecai20' drop. Grate missing. Even worse now.. This is the hole where my 2 year old almost walked into months ago. Called 911, they pretty much said not an emergency. This has been reported multiple times now.
