Notified About

  • Ne Blvd Gainesville, FL 32601 - 311GNVPolice Sector 3
There is no place to safely cross 8th Ave between Main and 7th St. (and the crossing at Main is not very safe because of turning traffic). It is very scary especially during rush hours. It would increase pedestrian safety and help unify the north and south halves of our neighborhood to put some kind of pedestrian crosswalk near NE Blvd and 8th Ave.

2 people have been hit by motorists at this intersection. Please install a proper crosswalk and crosswalk sign as soon as possible. Thank you!
  • Sw 51 Blvd Gainesville, Florida - Alachua County
The recent construction has created an unsafe entry into the Stillwind subdivision. There are uneven surfaces that make it extremely difficult to pull out into ongoing traffic as well as difficult to turn into the neighborhood safely. In addition the recent new sidewalk that was poured has already cracked in three locations. This is unacceptable for new construction. Plus now the work crew is nowhere in sight. We need this issues fixed immediately with our tax dollars.

Don’t know how this project was signed off by any engineer but this U dip entering or leaving the subdivision is not only annoying but scary too. This should be fixed as a priority

About 2 months ago someone painted circles around the dozen of potholes on 93rd on the side of the John Deere store. Thought it was the city mapping the holes for fill. They were marked again today. By the city or a resident so the cars can navigate the maze???

There are 2 stop signs forcing people on bicycles, on a bike trail, to stop where a GPD parking lot is connected. It's incredibly clear that cars from the GPD parking lots should have to stop for the bike lane, not vice versa. Though I'm hardly surprised by this move. Please fix the stop signs.
  • Road Repair Archived
4100-4298 Nw 93rd Ave Gainesville, FL, 32653, USA - Alachua County
NW 93rd Ave is in DIRE need of repair. This road has huge, deep potholes that cause vehicles to make extremely dangerous maneuvers to avoid, often resulting in cars dodging in and out of oncoming vehicles just to avoid these awful potholes. There are probably at least 30 holes that are minimally a foot or more in diameter throughout this stretch of road between 43rd and 441. In the past, these potholes have been spot-filled from time to time, but after a heavy rain the fill washes out in no time. A full repaving of this stretch would be ideal, but at the VERY least, the holes need to be patched as soon as possible.
  • 7510 Southwest 51 Boulevard Gainesville, Florida - Alachua County
Flooding creates a pool blocking sidewalk traffic for Stillwind residents, Tower road pedestrians, and students. Certainly was not an issue prior to the repaving.

The stop sign on the NE side of the intersection usually has a very helpful white stripe painted on the pavement next to it. Now, the line is almost totally invisible, and this is a blind intersection that needs a visible warning besides the sign.
  • 318 Nw 24th St Gainesville, Florida - 311GNV Police Sector 1
The no parking signs from the 300 to the 400 block on 24th ST have been removed and a vehicle is parked on the street, obstructing traffic.
  • 6471-6895 E University Ave Gainesville, FL 32641, USA - Alachua County
Residents have no access to their homes. Lakeview drive is under water and Hatchet Creek is flooding CR329B. Lots of people are still there. Cars have had to be towed for breaking down after driving in water. Some had to leave pets behind and get out for fear of being stranded. The road seems to have more cracks and potholes each day. Water was up to the top of SUV tire rims. There are at least 6 blocks full of houses trapped between floods.

The traffic signals going east to west from NW. 16th Ave. at NW13th are ridiculous. Just as a test, during nonpeak hours, I timed the light and my wait was approximately one minute and 45 seconds. During peak times, traffic headed West is backed up all the way past NW. 9th St. The traffic headed east is backed up way beyond the turning lane to turn onto Northwest 13th. The cars that want to get into the turning lane to turn on the 13th aren't able to do so because cars in the left-hand lane are blocking it. Usually, if you're that far back in traffic you're guaranteed to wait at least two cycles to get through the light. Headed west across north 13th is even more difficult. Often times, travelers try to accommodate those pulling out of the Walgreens parking lot which causes more delay (the time spent letting them out means less cars get through),and also presents a safety issue. I live just off of 9th Street, and sometimes the trip from 9th Street across 13th takes a third of the time of my entire eight mile commute.
