6104-6298 W City Ave Philadelphia, PA 19151, USA - WynnefieldCity Ave. & Lancaster Rd. traffic goes thru red lights in all directions..only 2 cars can turn at arrows or be smashed by oncoming traffic going through red lights. Travelling North on City Ave. the lights are not timed at Merion or 63rd St. so it's stop and go for the busiest hours.

2128-2198 N 63rd St Philadelphia, PA 19151, USA - WynnefieldDriving west on 63rd there is a T at City Avenue and 2 lanes: one for cars turning left and one for cars turning right. All traffic is forced into the left lane by the existence of a few (legally) parked cars on the right plus any buses stopping at the bus stop at the right corner, and then further jammed by the recently installed No Right Turn on Red sign. Either remove the No Right Turn on Red or get rid of the 3 or 4 parking spaces on the right to improve traffic flow.

Upon opening Village Coffee House the owner, promptly, dropped many of the promises made to residents ,concerning the conduct of his business.
1.Instead of encouraging local,EZ access by foot and installing "bicycle racks", there's constant noise pollution from motorcycles, whatever the hour. Riders tend to rev-up for minutes at a time before blasting off.
2. Instead of music each Saturday evening, up to 10:00 PM, "Open Mic"nights have climbed to 3 times a week. Saturday nights have often gone full throttle into early hours on Sunday mornings.
3. Instead of confining the booming noise to the interior the doors are sometimes opened; pumping the decibels into the street.
4. Instead of customer activity confined inside the restaurant, they party by the dozens outside on the pavement.
5. Instead of recognizing he didn't have a permit for sidewalk tables, the owner, routinely, placed tables and chairs on the pedestrian path.
I admit, while this does not impact MY quality of life, it made me wonder how serious the license and inspection department could really be about their own restrictions.
I took the problem to The Overbrook Club. My conversation with the club President revealed a personal relationship with "Stevie", the owner. Consquently, no serious support was forthcoming.
I am left with a question. What happen to all the claims about preserving that special mellowness one expects in historical Overbrook?
I do not have an issue with a restaurant. I have an issue with a restaurant that serves frequent, late night, calamity opposite my door ... all because the owner couldn't care less about what he agreed to on paper.
